The RowAlong Treasure Hunt

To celebrate approaching 30,000 subscribers on YouTube, I’m doing a massive giveaway which includes:

The Hunt

One of the videos on my YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@rowalong) contains Treasure!   

  1. A message saying You’ve Found The Treasure will pop up at the top right of the screen. 
  2. Click it, it will show a link and a password you’ll need to open a secret page where you can fill out your details.
  3. Leave the comment “RowAlong Treasure Hunt” on the video before you leave.

This will get you in the running to win the Concept2.  Only people who send me the form will be entered into  this draw. 

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!  

When you watch any video while you hunt for the Treasure, leave the same comment “RowAlong Treasure Hunt” to be entered into the draw to win any of the other prizes.  

 

The Requirements

In order to be eligible to win ANY prize – including the Concept2:

1) You must have subscribed to the channel + clicked the bell notification icon (existing subscribers have already done this).
2) You must have left the comment “RowAlong Treasure Hunt” on ANY of my VIDEOS on YouTube!

I will pick the 5 most recent of those comments from each video, and add them into the draw to win the other prizes.    So find a video no one has commented on yet, and add your comment! 

If no one finds the treasure, the Concept2 draw will be done from these comment entries.

 

 

I’ll repeat what you need to do:

To be in with a chance to win the Concept2 you need to

  1. Find the video with the Treasure Link
  2. Leave the comment “RowAlong Treasure Hunt“
  3. Visit the link and enter the password to access the page.
  4. Fill out  your details and send them to me
  5. Make sure you’ve subscribed to the channel
To be entered to win any of the other prizes:

  1. Watch any of my RowAlong videos (workouts / technique / reviews –  any video – BUT NOT YOUTUBE SHORTS)
  2. When you don’t find the treasure, leave the comment “RowAlong Treasure Hunt“
  3. Make sure you’ve subscribed to the channel. 
 

Multiple Entries

I encourage you to watch and leave the comment on as many videos as you can.  Although you can only have one entry in the draw, comments on multiple videos will give you the best chance of being in the top 5 in at least one of them – and making it into the draw.   After all, there are almost 900 videos to choose from…

 

Don't Share the 'Location' of the Treasure!

If you find the treasure, you still only leave the comment “RowAlong Treasure Hunt“.  Don’t spoil the ‘game’ for other Hunters.  

And, if I find that the location is being shared – I’ll dig it up and put it on a different video that hasn’t been searched yet, with a new password to access the “Success” page.   If it’s clear who’s been sharing the info, they will be removed from the draw. 

 

Duration of The Treasure Hunt

The hunt will start on Sunday 8th September and run until the 31st October 2024.    Submissions to enter the draw to win the Concept2 will stop being accepted at 23:59 UK Time. 

The draw will take place on Saturday 2nd November – and I’ll post a video with the usernames of winners.

Important Restrictions for the Concept2

This is for people over the age of 18 who are able to accept delivery of a Concept2.  There are no age restrictions for the other prizes. 

If you currently own a C2 Rower, I’m happy to arrange for a BikeErg or SkiErg alternative.  

I will do everything I possibly can to get a brand new Concept2 sent to you.   Unfortunately however, there are some regions that this will prove impossible.  

Legally, sales are strictly prohibited to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, DNR & LNR regions of Ukraine.  And due to the outbreak of war,  most places  refuse to sell to Russia and Belarus.  I’ve also found it near impossible to get anything sent to Palestine/Israel due to the current conflict.  

Some countries and regions have import taxes that are almost the same as the cost of the machine, or can’t accept this kind of shipment.  But I will work with whoever wins to try to get a new Concept2 to you.   

A brand new Concept2 costs £1000 – and unless this competition absolutely skyrockets views on the channel, I can’t afford more than £200 in import fees.

Similar restrictions may also apply for the other prizes, but that’s something to discuss on a case by case basis.

There is no cash alternative to any of the prizes on offer.  If it’s impossible, either because of import/sales restrictions or import taxes are too high, then the draw will be re-done, with my apologies for letting you down.

Questions + My right to modify rules

If you have any comments about any of the design of this Treasure Hunt, or questions – please get in touch at info@rowalong.com .   I’ve hopefully covered all you need to know, but if I’ve missed something important, let me know and I’ll add it to this page.

I reserve the right to modify the rules as the competition runs to protect the fairness I am aiming for.  And if something occurs that is obviously skewing the competition in favour of one individual, I reserve the right to cancel the competition. 

Verifying entry Requirements

The form entry is simple enough when it comes to the Concept2 draw.  Send me the form, properly filled out, and I’ll know you’ve found the Treasure.

For the “Subscription and comment” requirements, I will pull out this data and create the ‘pool’ of names.  

Once winners have been drawn, I’ll manually check each one. 

All data collected will be GDPR compliant, and destroyed at the end of the competition. 

Privacy Statement

I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy statement explains how I’ll handle the information collected during the RowAlong Treasure Hunt.

  1. Data Collection:
    • I collect personal information such as your name, email address, and YouTube username when you enter the contest.
    • I also collect data on your YouTube activity related to this contest (comments, subscription status).
  2. Purpose:
    • This information is used solely for the purpose of administering the Treasure Hunt, including verifying eligibility and contacting winners.
  3. Data Storage and Security:
    • Your personal data is stored securely and is only accessible to me.
    • I will not share your information with third parties except as required to deliver prizes.
  4. Data Retention:
    • All personal data collected for this contest will be deleted within 30 days after the conclusion of the contest and prize distribution.
  5. Your Rights:
    • You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.

    • By participating in this contest, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this privacy statement.
