  • The YouTube Videos have NO MUSIC - so you can load up another YouTube page, or Soundcloud or your music app and listen to your own tunes while you RowAlong

  • Podcasts HAVE music - pretty low level, but just enough to give you a bit of background

  • Coaching and Technique Tips throughout the workout will keep your focussed and give you something to keep you going through the sessions.

  • Non-Alpha - I'm not a bare-chested alpha-male type coach. I'll just talk you through the sessions, the technique, what dinner I'm having that night - all to make it feel like I'm just sitting there next to you. A friend to RowAlong with.

ROWING MACHINE

Preferably a Concept 2

It doesn't have to be a Concept 2 - but it the pace readouts will vary for different machines

Phone / Tablet or Computer

Anything that will play YouTube or Podcasts

You'll need some kind of tech to play the videos or podcasts. And if it's YouTube, you'll need an internet connection too

TIME

Time to Row and a recent 2000m or 5000m time

Pace guides are based on your current 2000m time (or 5000m for the 5K plan). This is explained in one of the YouTube vidoes

A healthy body

Make sure you can take the intensity

The workouts vary from lower heart rate Steady State workouts to max heart rate anaerobic sessions. So you need to be healthy and without injuries. By doing the workouts, you understand and accept this

WATER

Hydration is vital

Hydration and nutrition is vital with any form of exercise. Make sure you have a water bottle nearby
