New Shiny Forum!!!

Post by Ceebs.CBDB »

Hi all!

I’m Ceebs, my user id is often CBDB.CBDB.

I am a hypothyroid (Hashimotos) female, 55-ish rower (and runner, yogi, Nordic Walker, ex-cyclist, ex-climber, ex-kayaker)(“ex” means now more than 20 years ago, yeah … time flies! )

(And thanks for this forum. I love to be able to dream of leaving Facebook behind, as I only joined Facebook for the RowAlong Gang!)

I’m super slow and loving it. A split linear alba has meant that I’m “core challenged”, so almost cannot use any abdominal muscles anymore.

But I do run (ultra slow), do yoga (amending a lot and using props), and I love rowing!

I have a Concept2 Model E, and I row a running Avatar on Zwift. The RowAlong gang, together with the ZLDR team on Zwift, has kept me rowing for more than 2.5 years m, now!

2k pace is ca 2:37 (I know, deliciously slow, right?). I have rowed up to 10k. Am a 1 Million meter club member and loving specifically the following RowAlong Collections:

1) 12 Rows of Christmas - my newest favourite as it’s short, intensive and sweet. It also has a lot of interval rowing with short rests, that I have a particular liking for (I can type into the chat in Zwift in the rests).

2) Get Fit Series - again, really loved that one, as it had tabatas , intervals and rowing fartleks.

3) 30x30 - my classic favourite which I have done now 4 times, always increasing the drag factor (as I’m building up the tiny core strengths I have left)

I have done the 10k for plan as well.

Happy Rowing, everyone!

Yeah, one of the reasons I decided to bring this Community forum back was to help those who want to get away from Facebook. For all the reasons it's helpful, there are at least 5 bad reasons!

I'm so pleased you're still enjoying the workouts. Hopefully the new wave of material will keep you interested for much more time to come. Even if I am sitting on a spaceship!

Thank you! Yup, I’m enjoying moving to and fro between the Aviron present and your 12-Row past! Who says time travel doesn’t exist!

(But I’m wondering how much effort it is to always change rowers between different videos. But all variety and efforts to make these videos great is immensely appreciated! Also love your sense of visual humour, which comes out in thumbnails!)
